Privacy Policy
Effective November 2, 2026
Media Engine is a private tool that publishes videos to, and reports on, YouTube channels owned by its operator. It is not offered to the public, and only its operator signs in to it.
YouTube API Services
Media Engine uses YouTube API Services. Use of those features is also governed by the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
What Media Engine accesses
When a channel is connected, Media Engine asks Google for three permissions, and uses them as follows:
- Upload videos: sends the video file, title, description, thumbnail, captions and publish time that the operator prepared.
- View the YouTube account: reads the channel's id, title and subscriber count, and each video's id, title, publish date, length, privacy status, and view, like and comment counts. It also reads YouTube's public most-popular charts, which show other creators' public videos.
- View YouTube Analytics reports: reads aggregated measures for each video, such as impressions, click-through rate, watch time and audience retention.
Media Engine does not read the text of comments, and it does not collect information that identifies individual viewers.
How it is used
This information is used only to publish the operator's videos, to report how they perform, and to choose video topics from public trends. Media Engine does not sell it, does not use it for advertising, and does not use it to train AI models.
Media Engine's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
How it is stored
- Sign-in tokens are kept in the secure credential store on the operator's own computer, and are kept until access is revoked or replaced.
- Channel and video statistics are kept in files on the operator's own computer, and are kept for as long as the operator uses them to report on those channels.
Who it is shared with
Information from YouTube API Services is shared only in these two ways, both to help run the tool for its operator:
- Private dashboard: channel and video statistics are shown on a private dashboard hosted by a third-party service. The dashboard is not public.
- AI assistants: AI assistants that help the operator run the tool can read channel and video statistics while doing that work.
Revoking access and deleting data
Access can be revoked at any time on Google's security settings page. To ask for stored data to be deleted, email the address below. Deletion requests are completed within 30 days.
